Basketball Game Preview: Newfane Panthers vs. Barker Bulldogs

Newfane is on a five-game streak of home losses, Barker a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Newfane Panthers will host the Barker Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Newfane turned things around against Tapestry on Saturday. They secured a 59-55 W over the Thunderhawks.

Mac Capen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 18 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nasir Spencer, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Barker came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Royalton-Hartland on Friday.

Barker's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Newfane, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.
