Baseball Game Preview: Lutheran Cougars vs. St. Dominic Crusaders

The Lutheran Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the St. Dominic Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lutheran is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Lutheran fell victim to Jackson and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Fighting Indians.

Meanwhile, St. Dominic owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Howell Central. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

St. Dominic got a great performance from Noah Price as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Price has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Danny Henke, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Brody Morgan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

St. Dominic's record is now 10-6. As for Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Lutheran might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from St. Dominic when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
