Volleyball Recap: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. Crawford Colts

Mountain Empire lost against Crawford back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mountain Empire Redhawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crawford Colts. While the Redhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Colts 25-21 in the first set.

Mountain Empire started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-12, 25-20, 25-16.

Andrew Sepulveda paced Mountain Empire's offense, picking up 12 kills. Sepulveda got some help from Oscar Plasencia and his 20 assists. Amar Mahasin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Mountain Empire and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Crawford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Mountain Empire will take on Horizon Prep at 4:00 p.m. on March 19th. As for Crawford, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Gompers Prep Academy on the 13th.
