Baseball Game Preview: Dardanelle Sand Lizards vs. Mena Bearcats

The Dardanelle Sand Lizards will face off against the Mena Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Dardanelle had taken Pottsville down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Sand Lizards came up short against the Apaches, falling 13-4.

Cam Evans made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Rush Rector also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Mena entered their tilt with Clarksville on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Mena's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Dardanelle, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
