Basketball Recap: Anthony Carranza Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Flowing Wells

Pueblo won the last time they faced Flowing Wells and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pueblo Warriors walked away with a 59-49 win over the Flowing Wells Caballeros. The Warriors didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Pueblo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Carranza led the charge by going 6 of 15 en route to 18 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Silverio Rivera, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 20 points.

Pueblo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.3% in those games and 27.7% outside of them. As for Flowing Wells, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Pueblo will challenge Cienega at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cienega's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Flowing Wells, they will welcome Desert View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
