Recap: Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders vs. Arcola Purple Riders
On Wednesday, the Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders's game was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Arcola by a score of 51-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Arthur-Okaw Christian.
Arthur-Okaw Christian was led to victory by Avery Herschberger and Addisyn Erwin. Herschberger scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Erwin scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Erwin has scored at least a third of Arthur-Okaw Christian's points.
When it comes to explaining why Arcola lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kacie Sisk. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Sisk has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Jacey Kessler was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Arthur-Okaw Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Arcola, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arthur-Okaw Christian will square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Arcola, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Blue Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th.
