Meanwhile, Barnwell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 57-23 loss at the hands of Hampton County. Despite the loss, Barnwell saw an underclassman step up: Kaylen Mayes scored 15 points. That was a full 65.2% of Barnwell's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Edisto's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Barnwell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Edisto beat Barnwell 47-34 in their previous meeting on January 10th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edisto since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
