Softball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

After flying high against Manzano two weeks ago, Valencia came back down to earth. The Valencia Jaguars fell 20-17 to the Los Alamos Hilltoppers on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Hilltoppers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Audrey Ash was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Rosalyn Rael, who went 4-for-6 with four RBI and one run.

Valencia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valencia will venture away from home to face off against Del Norte at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Los Alamos, they are taking a road trip to take on Albuquerque Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
