Recap: Craigmont Chiefs vs. Trezevant Bears
This season hasn't been kind to the Craigmont Chiefs, who are still winless after their sixth match. They took a 77-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trezevant on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Courtney Chaffin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds for Trezevant. Chaffin has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times he's played. Larry Hampton was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Craigmont's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Trezevant, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Craigmont will play host again and welcome Power Center Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Trezevant will be home for the holidays to greet Wooddale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
