Basketball Recap: Richlands Comes Up Short

Richlands lost against White Oak back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Richlands Wildcats were dealt a 65-23 defeat at the hands of the White Oak Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Vikings are ranked 86th).

Richlands dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for White Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Richlands has already played their next matchup, a 73-31 defeat against Swansboro on the 29th. As for White Oak, they are taking a road trip to square off against West Carteret at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Carteret's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
