Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Centerville walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chester Yellowjackets a 5-0 shutout on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last seven games.

Kolt Larsen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hardy Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March.

Centerville's victory bumped their record up to 21-1. As for Chester, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-6.

Centerville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
