Meridian piles up the points against Lewiston

Recap: Meridian Mustangs vs. Lewiston Tigers

There's no place like home for the Meridian Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They breezed by Lewiston at home to the tune of 49-6. That looming 49-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Meridian yet this season.

Jaylee Sobotka continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Meridian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaala Stewart, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Meridian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.33 points. As for Lewiston, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian will face off against McCool Junction at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lewiston, they will head out on the road to face off against Cedar Bluffs on Friday. Cedar Bluffs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
