Football Game Preview: Westwood Redhawks vs. Spring Valley Vikings

The Westwood Redhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Spring Valley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Westwood is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Ridge View just ended the team's four-game winning streak last Friday. They were dealt a 46-8 loss at the hands of the Blazers. The Redhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley fell victim to Ridge View and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Blazers, falling 44-0. The Vikings have struggled against the Blazers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Spring Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Westwood, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 4-2.

Westwood took their victory against Spring Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 26-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
