Softball Game Preview: Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees vs. Fern Creek Tigers

The Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees will head out to take on the Fern Creek Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bethlehem's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Fern Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bethlehem's last matchup with Central Hardin could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Eagles/Banshees lost 8-1 to the Bruins. The Eagles/Banshees have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Fern Creek came up short against Male on Thursday, falling 12-4.

Trinity Neal made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Bailey Weihe also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Fern Creek's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Bethlehem, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Saturday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bethlehem has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .500. However, it's not like Fern Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
