Volleyball Recap: Onalaska Hilltoppers vs. Waunakee Warriors
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Onalaska couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Waunakee Warriors on Thursday. The Hilltoppers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Isabella Malecek paced Onalaska's offense, picking up nine kills. Malecek got some help from Isabella Eckstein and her 17 assists. Eckstein was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Waunakee can attribute much of their success to Kendall Scadden, who had 11 digs. Scadden is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Onalaska's defeat dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Waunakee, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 39-8.
Onalaska does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waunakee, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Holmen on the 1st.
