Volleyball Recap: Madison Cubs vs. New Albany Bulldogs

Madison came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the New Albany Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The Cubs haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-7.

Maylie Skinner paced Madison's offense, picking up eight kills. Skinner got some help from Audrey Miller and her 16 assists. Finally, Lilly Canida kept Madison's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

New Albany was led to victory by Brooklynn Weber and Kinley Bush. Weber had five aces and three digs, while Bush had six digs and two aces.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for New Albany, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will host Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, New Albany and Jennings County will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
