Softball Recap: Springville Now 12-1 over Last 13 Games

Springville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Cedar Valley Aviators on Friday as they made off with a 17-4 victory. Considering the Red Devils have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyler Haveron was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Springville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive matches.

Springville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Cedar Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-14.

Springville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Aviators: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
