Basketball Recap: Ridgedale Comes Up Short at Home Against River Valley

Ridgedale unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the River Valley Vikings on Wednesday, falling 75-36. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-19.

River Valley was led to victory by Chase Smith and Carter Myers. Smith went 7-for-9 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points and eight boards, while Myers shot 63% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Myers' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Eli Snyder, who posted nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

Looking ahead, Ridgedale will take on Worthington Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for River Valley, they will challenge Olentangy Berlin at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
