Israel Ross Turns in Season-Best Performance
Israel Ross produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Leake Central to the win on Friday. Ross rushed for 218 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 43 receiving yards.
Leake Central moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. Ross and Leake Central will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Newton County at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

Travion Mosley Turns in Another Game with at Least 157 Rushing Yards
On Friday, West Lauderdale got the W thanks in part to Travion Mosley playing the best football he has all season. Mosley's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 157 rushing yards.
The win was the third in a row for West Lauderdale, bringing their record for this year to 4-3. They and Northeast Lauderdale are set to duel on Friday.

K.P PEOPLES Goes Supernova in West Lauderdale Win
Keeping Mosley company is K.P PEOPLES, a fellow West Lauderdale player. He rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 78 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Taylorsville had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw PEOPLES it was a similar story. When PEOPLES last faced the Tartars back in October of 2023, he rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.

Jase Jimison's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northeast Lauderdale over Leake Central
Northeast Lauderdale was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Jase Jimison did his best to prevent it. Jimison turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 160 yards, while also throwing for 134 yards on eight of 13 attempts. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 63 yards.
Northeast Lauderdale is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. They and West Lauderdale are set to duel on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Jaivon Wilson Leads West Lauderdale over Taylorsville
West Lauderdale was led to victory by Jaivon Wilson, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Wilson wasn't messing around, picking up two sacks, making seven total tackles, and defending two passes. The game was his third straight with five or more total tackles dating back to last season.
For the year, Wilson has averaged 5.4 total tackles per game and for the season has those 2 sacks. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 2.14 total tackles per game.
