Basketball Game Preview: Grass Lake Warriors vs. Western Panthers

The Grass Lake Warriors will take on the Western Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Grass Lake sitting on 13 straight wins and Western on 16.

Last Tuesday, everything went Grass Lake's way against East Jackson as Grass Lake made off with a 59-37 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Western over Pennfield in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Western blew Pennfield out of the water with a 54-22 final score. Western is also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 11th game they've won by 20+ points this season.

Western pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Grass Lake, their record is now 16-3.

Grass Lake and Western were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but Grass Lake came up empty-handed after a 49-48 loss. Can Grass Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
