The Apex Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Panther Creek Catamounts at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Apex is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Last Wednesday, neither Apex nor Broughton could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Abigail Lowe was handed one for the Cougars, while the Capitals got theirs courtesy of Elena Berra.

Emily Degnan and Eliana Butler scored both of Apex's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Panther Creek's offense. They lost 3-0 to Green Level on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Catamounts in their meetings with the Gators: they've now lost seven in a row.

Panther Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. Apex's draw gives them a new season record of 3-1-2.

Everything went Apex's way against Panther Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Apex made off with a 5-1 win. In that contest, Apex amassed a halftime lead of 4-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
