Baseball Recap: Pauls Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pauls Valley came into Monday's game having lost 13 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Bridge Creek Bobcats 4-3 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Bobcats since April 3, 2017.

Zac Hayes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tanner Perry was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Brycen Green, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Pauls Valley's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-16. As for Bridge Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
