The Maranatha Minutemen will take on the Lompoc Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Maranatha will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Maranatha sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Whittier Christian.

Matthew Vazquez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
On the hitting side, Dylan Garcia was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Will Suslow, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Lompoc and Nipomo have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Braves were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Titans. The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won nine in a row.
Riley Hendrickson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Stone Kubasiewicz, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Aidan Vallarta was another key player, earning one RBI and three runs.
Maranatha's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lompoc, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
