Basketball Recap: Comstock Comes Up Short

Comstock came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Lawrence Tigers and fell 52-16. The Colts have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Lawrence was led to victory by Carolina Mancera and Hailey Camp. Mancera almost dropped a triple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals, while Camp dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Camp has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 26 times she's played. Colleen Mccaw was another key player, putting up five points.

Comstock's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Lawrence, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.

Comstock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-19 defeat against Galesburg-Augusta on the 3rd. As for Lawrence, they have also already played their next game, a 36-27 win against Marcellus on the 5th.
