The West Point Dragons will venture away from home to take on the Browne Bruins at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Point's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Valley Vista 19-0. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Angelique Chavez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, West Point got a massive performance out of Zerianna Gomez, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave Gomez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leilani Mendez, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-2.
West Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Vista only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Browne waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Champions.
Browne let Annalyssia Ramos and Anahi Rocha run wild. Ramos scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Rocha went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Dania Duran was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Browne pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Point, their record is now 11-8.
Both West Point and Browne just can't seem to miss. The Dragons have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Browne struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Point took their win against Browne in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bruins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
