Baseball Recap: Stevens Finds Playoff Glory Versus Mitchell

It's playoff time, and Stevens had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Mitchell Kernels by a score of 11-6 on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Austin Flohr, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Olmsted, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Stevens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Stevens' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Mitchell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
