Basketball Game Preview: Wright vs. Morris Jeff Pelicans

Wright are taking a road trip to face off against the Morris Jeff Pelicans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Wright saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 51-44 to McKinley. Wright has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-29, which was the final score in Morris Jeff's tilt against De La Salle on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pelicans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Cavalier are ranked 22nd).

Wright's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Morris Jeff, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

Everything came up roses for Wright against Morris Jeff in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as the team secured an 84-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wright since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
