Baseball Recap: Canyon Hills Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Canyon Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against the Orange Glen Patriots by a score of 12-9 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.

Canyon Hills got a big performance out of Elijah Shoate, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Shoate is becoming a predictor of the Rattlers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-0-1 (and 3-8-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brady Lang, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Shoate wasn't the only one making solid contact: Canyon Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orange Glen only managed four hits.

Canyon Hills' victory bumped their record up to 5-8-2. As for Orange Glen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6-1 record this season.

Canyon Hills has already played their next contest, a 10-7 win against Southwest SD on the 7th. As for Orange Glen, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-1 loss against Escondido Charter on the 4th.
