Football Recap: Slaughter Community Charter Piles Up the Points Against Morgan City

While Slaughter Community Charter put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Morgan City. The Knights breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 62-0. The Knights pushed the score to 55-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had no chance of recovering from.

Carson Baxter had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 72 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. Albert Eubanks made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Slaughter Community Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Thomas Carter Jr., Eubanks, and Ty'Kimion Ford picked up one apiece. Eubanks got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Slaughter Community Charter, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ford, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Slaughter Community Charter has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 points this season. As for Morgan City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Slaughter Community Charter will challenge LaGrange at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Morgan City, they will head out to take on St. Edmund at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
