Baseball Recap: Northwest Has No Trouble Against Windsor

Northwest came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Windsor Owls with a sharp 12-4 win on Monday.

Northwest got a great performance from Dakota Werner as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off nine hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Werner a new career-high.

At the plate, Jackson Venatta was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Preston Lamprecht was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Northwest's record is now 5-9. As for Windsor, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest will take on Webster Groves at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Windsor, they will face off against Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
