Poth had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 19-run drubbing they dealt New Braunfels Christian Academy on Tuesday. Everything went the Poth Pirates' way against the New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats as the Poth Pirates made off with a 20-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Braden Arruda was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Major Luna, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Austin Simmons, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Poth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Poth's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
