Volleyball Recap: Villa Maria Academy Falls to Germantown Academy in First Game of Season

Villa Maria Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 3-1 to the Germantown Academy Patriots on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Germantown Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 17-25, 25-17, 25-22.

Villa Maria Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Springfield at 4:45 p.m. on September 12. As for Germantown Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spring-Ford at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
