Basketball Game Preview: Wilde Lake Wildecats vs. Glenelg Gladiators

The Wilde Lake Wildecats are taking a road trip to face off against the Glenelg Gladiators at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Wilde Lake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Wilde Lake is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against SEED on Friday as Wilde Lake made off with a 64-40 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wildecats with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Glenelg suffered their biggest loss since January 24th on Friday. They lost 59-37 to Oakland Mills. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Scorpions are ranked 28th).

Wilde Lake's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Glenelg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Wilde Lake was taken down by Glenelg 48-13 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Wilde Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
