Recap: Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors vs. Monsignor Scanlan Crusaders
On Sunday, Mt. Zion Prep Academy was beaten by Monsignor Scanlan 70-42. Mt. Zion Prep Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jniya Weaver, who scored 12 points. Weaver scored a full 28.6% of Mt. Zion Prep Academy's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn Banks, who scored 12 points.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Monsignor Scanlan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion Prep Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Shabach Christian Academy on Friday. Monsignor Scanlan will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Gorman at 5:30 p.m. on December 18th. Bishop Gorman has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three matches.
