Johnstown Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Belleville Mennonite Thunder by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Johnstown Christian couldn't quite close it out.

Belleville Mennonite has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Johnstown Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Centre County Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Belleville Mennonite, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
