Football Recap: Bonita Springs Takes a Loss

Bonita Springs fell victim to Mariner and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Tritons 38-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bullsharks in their meetings with the Tritons: they've now lost four in a row.

Keegan O'Connell threw for 41 yards on two of nine attempts. Kenneth Garza was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards.

Owen O'Leary had a dynamite game For Mariner., throwing for 293 yards and five touchdowns on only 19 passes, while also rushing for 47 yards. Steven Leon Carter Jr. was in the mix too, providing the Tritons with two TDs.

Bonita Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mariner, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonita Springs will take on Cape Coral at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mariner, they will head out to challenge North Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
