Volleyball Recap: Elmwood's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Elmwood hadn't done well against West Prairie recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Trojans skirted past the Cyclones 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Elmwood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 26-24.

Cheyenne Burge paced Elmwood's offense, picking up 16 kills. Burge got some help from Payge Ryan and her 25 assists.

Elmwood's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for West Prairie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Elmwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Cuba/Spoon River Valley on the 25th. As for West Prairie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Camp Point Central on the 25th.
