Recap: Barnwell Warhorses vs. Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks
The Barnwell Warhorses were the 67-47 winner over the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Barnwell was the victim of a rough 74-54 loss at the hands of Blackville-Hilda on Friday. Barnwell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Barnwell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Pickney. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Jamarcus Coleman was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Barnwell bumped their record down to 3-4 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Blackville-Hilda, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barnwell will take on Williston-Elko at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blackville-Hilda will finish 2023 at home by hosting Andrew Jackson Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Andrew Jackson Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
