Baseball Recap: Union Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Union Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell 6-1 to the North Stanly Comets. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost four in a row.

Union Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emerson Carter, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Union Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for North Stanly, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

When Union Academy and North Stanly next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Union Academy will take on Pine Lake Prep and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, North Stanly will try to stop Central Davidson's three-game winning streak when they meet at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Stanly 3, Central Davidson 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
