Basketball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Pine View Panthers

The Timpview Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to square off against the Pine View Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Timpview was handed a 20-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Cedar 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunderbirds have posted since December 5, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timpview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aliitasi Galeai, who shot 60% from the field en route to 16 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Galeai now owns an excellent 47.9% field goal percentage. Stella Madsen was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Timpview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pine View). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 68-37 win over Viewmont. The Panthers not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since November 23, 2024 (when they won 71-21).

Timpview's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Pine View, their record is now 2-3.
