Baseball Recap: Payson Takes a Loss

Payson and Cottonwood squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Payson had to settle for second. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colts. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Cole Neves was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Bosten Roseman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Cottonwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Payson beat Cottonwood by a score of 10-5 on Saturday.
