Basketball Recap: Springfield Victorious

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Springfield walked away with it. They pulled ahead with a 56-55 photo finish over the West Albany Bulldogs on Friday. For the Millers, this counts as revenge for the 70-66 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.

Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for West Albany and nudges their season record down to 17-8.

Coming up, Springfield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wilsonville on Saturday. Wilsonville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.3 points per game this season. West Albany does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
