Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Central took on Hardin County on Thursday. The Wildcats took a 40-24 bruising from the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 44-18 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isla Hardy posted 13 points and three steals. Hardy has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hardin County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-38 victory against Lexington on the 21st. As for Hardin County, they will welcome Adamsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
