Softball Recap: North Pike Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

It's playoff time, and North Pike had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the East Central Hornets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Jaguars needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

The result came thanks to Anna Claire Weber's shutout, as she gave up just six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, North Pike got a massive performance out of Ellyn Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Williams has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ahlyana Houston, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Pike kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

North Pike has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-18 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Central, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-6.

As of now, neither North Pike nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
