MaxPreps 2014-15 California Boys Basketball Fab 5 presented by the Army National Guard

1. Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth)
2013-14 record: 29-4
Head coach: Tyrone Nichols

Junior guard Devearl Ramsey (5-foot-10) and sophomores Cody Riley (6-8, F) and Ira Lee (6-8, F) lead one of the nation's most promising young teams. Transfer Remy Martin (5-10, So., G) also joins the Trailblazers, who will play a national schedule that includes trips to the City of Palms Classic and MaxPreps Holiday Classic.

2. Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland)
2013-14 record: 28-5
Head coach: Lou Richie

The Dragons are looking to end a depressing streak of seven straight state championship game defeats. Leading that charge will be five-star forward Ivan Rabb (6-9, Sr.) and point guard Paris Austin (5-10, Sr.), a recent Boise State pledge. O'Dowd will feature four players over 6-7 in the rotation.

3. Mater Dei (Santa Ana)
2013-14 record: 35-0, Open Division state champion
Head coach: Gary McKnight

Stanley Johnson is gone but the Monarchs routinely produced 30-win seasons before he arrived and will continue to do so well into the future. McKnight is five wins shy of 1,000 for his career. It won't take him long to get there with Rex Pflueger (6-5, Sr., G) and MJ Cage (6-10, Jr., F/C) in the lineup.

4. Chino Hills
2013-14 record: 29-6
Head coach: Steve Baik

Brothers Lonzo Ball and LiAngelo Ball will be the best show in California high school basketball this season. Lonzo, a 6-5 junior point guard, is already committed to UCLA. LiAngelo, a sophomore shooting guard, can score in bunches.

5. Etiwanda
2013-14 record: 27-5
Head coach: David Kleckner

Kleckner is regarded as one of the state's finest coaches. Combine his acumen with certified talent like Kameron Edwards (6-5, Sr., G) and a bevy of bigs and it adds up to what looks like another stellar season for the Eagles.
