Baseball Game Preview: St. Vincent Indians vs. Chaffee Red Devils

St. Vincent hasn't had much luck against Chaffee recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Indians will head out to challenge the Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

If St. Vincent beats Chaffee with six runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Indians beat Meadow Heights on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Meanwhile, Chaffee waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bulldogs 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted since March 31st.

Chaffee pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for St. Vincent, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

St. Vincent couldn't quite get it done against Chaffee when the teams last played back in April as they fell 8-4. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
