Volleyball Recap: Canton Central Catholic Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Canton Central Catholic had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Carrollton Warriors on Saturday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Canton Central Catholic was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Carrollton work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-23, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Canton Central Catholic still got an impressive performance from Molly Marceric, who had 19 digs and one assist. Marceric is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton Central Catholic will venture away from home to face off against GlenOak at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carrollton, they will head out to square off against Steubenville at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
