Soccer Game Preview: South Lenoir vs. James Kenan

The South Lenoir Blue Devils will take on the James Kenan Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. South Lenoir's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for South Lenoir's offense. They came up short against Southwest Onslow on Thursday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, South Lenoir can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Southwest Onslow are ranked 145th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, James Kenan was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwest Onslow. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but James Kenan couldn't quite close it out.

James Kenan has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for South Lenoir, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
