Basketball Recap: High Tech Mesa Takes a Loss + How To Watch

High Tech Mesa extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the El Cajon Valley Braves. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

As for El Cajon Valley, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games.

El Cajon Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shay Hopson, who posted 30 points. The matchup was Hopson's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Amir Eation, who scored 20 points.

Looking ahead, High Tech Mesa will welcome Kearny at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunder will be up against the Komets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for El Cajon Valley, they will challenge Southwest EC at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
