Basketball Recap: Mt. Rainier Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mt. Rainier can now relate to. They fell to the Union Titans 72-66. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Despite the loss, Mt. Rainier still got an impressive performance from Mason Emil, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 boards. Those 24 points gave Emil a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Simpson, who posted 14 points along with five assists and four steals.

Mt. Rainier's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Union, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Mt. Rainier does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union, they have already played their next contest, a 56-52 defeat against Sumner on the 18th.
